A training for acquiring second degree of professional qualification for the "Cook" profession starts today at CHRDRI - RD Stara Zagora

Today at CHRDRI - RD Stara Zagora starts a training for the second degree of professional qualification in the profession "Cook", specialty "Production of culinary products and beverages". Trainees will have the opportunity to acquire a second degree of professional qualification in this sought-after and attractive profession. General professional training includes topics on health and safety at work, economics and entrepreneurship. In the sectoral training, students will acquire knowledge on the organization of the work process, skills for communication and working with information and communication technologies, communication in a foreign language, organization in the restaurant and consulting guests, as well as basic knowledge of microbiology and food hygiene.

In the specific training, the trainees will learn to plan and organize activities in the kitchen, to prepare: semi-finished products, soups and sauces, main courses, snacks, side dishes, desserts and drinks. Highlights of the schedule are children's and dietary nutrition, preparation of various dishes from the foreign cuisine, shaping and decorating culinary products and drinks, catering.  The training will last 85 days or 660 academic hours, of which 248 hours theoretical training and 412 hours practical training.  

The course is part of the "National Employment Action Plan" and is intended for unemployed persons registered in the labor offices.  The training ends with passing a state exam in theory and practice of the profession. The persons who have acquired this professional qualification will be able to realize themselves on the labor market as cooks in restaurants, hotels, catering services, as well as in kindergartens, nurseries, school canteens having the knowledge of children's and dietary nutrition. The training is in accordance with the state educational standard for acquiring a degree in the profession of "Cook". CHRDRI RD Stara Zagora has qualified lecturers and fully equipped classrooms and a training kitchen.
